OUR MISSION
FOUNDATIONS: Family Faith Formation of the Church of Saint Gregory
weaves together the formation of families with the celebration of Sunday Eucharist.
By providing opportunities for children and adults to grow together in knowledge of God and their faith,
to prepare for and celebrate the sacraments and liturgy of the Church, and to serve God through the service of others,
FOUNDATIONS helps carry the Gospel message of Christ from the table of the Lord to the table of our homes, our communities, and our world.

Program Overview
FOUNDATIONS guides students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade in a progressive study and appreciation of the Catholic faith, its doctrine, its practice, and its history. Sparking an introduction to the faith with a primarily family-based experience while gradually encouraging students to practice the faith individually with their grade levels, FOUNDATIONS offers four unique faith formation opportunities, each supported and enhanced by families’ continued use of the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies:
CALLED (Grades PreK-K)
Children at this age are naturally curious and are genuinely open. They effortlessly give and receive love, which allows them to quickly develop a deep relationship with God. Students in the CALLED program will participate in Sunday Eucharist with their families, grow in appreciation of Scripture through use of the Gospel Weeklies, and explore their faith through monthly workshops on site. BLESSED (Grades 1-2) Children at this age are filled with a sense of wonder. Taking them on an unforgettable adventure into the story of Jesus will allow them to learn about the life-giving truths of His Church. Students in the BLESSED program will participate in Sunday Eucharist with their families, grow in an appreciation of Scripture through use of the Gospel Weeklies, explore their faith through monthly workshops on site, and prepare for the reception of First Penance and First Eucharist. FORMED (Grades 3-6) Children at this age begin to understand faith as participation in a community. Encouraging their presence in the church family contributes to their growing understanding of themselves in relationship to God. Students in the FORMED program will participate in Sunday Eucharist with their families, grow in an appreciation of Scripture through use of the Gospel Weeklies, explore their faith through engaging and energetic age-appropriate monthly workshops on site. A two-year curriculum will be taught on the 3rd & 4th and 5th and 6th grade levels. CHOSEN (Grades 7-8) Children at this age ask questions about their place in the world. Engaging these students in meaningful conversations about Catholicism will inspire them to respond to God’s grace. Students in the CHOSEN program will participate in Sunday Eucharist with their families, grow in an appreciation of Scripture through use of the Gospel Weeklies, explore their faith through monthly workshops on site, and prepare for the reception of Confirmation. Curriculum utilizes the Decision Point program but also includes an exploration of the lives of the saints and an introduction to Catholic social teaching. |
